Simple and New

Today was a good day in a long while! Woke up with a friendly phone call and that helped to get my sleeping pattern semi back on track (no hamster sleep schedule tonight).

Getting ready for bed so I can try to crash a Korean class! Yes, cheap but INTENSIVE Korean classes (hopefully) starting tomorrow! I am fated with Korean culture and I'm sure it goes beyond Korean stone pots and KimChi Cakes! (Sha2 Photography '07)

I found my 'stupid big sis' twin today! She is from HK and some other Chinese provinces too. She's funny. When she smiles her eyes curl up and make her look like a cat. I see many DQ green-tea chocolate chip ice creams in our future!

Also, my lovely 'BEAUTIFUL' older Chinese sis also helped me find a Korean class. She is right: I'm unemployed, might as well. Good news for her, she is schedule for something big and important next Tuesday!

Finally I got my piano practice craving out of the way (sorta). A place around the corner from my place and only 10 yuan an hour. Next time, I'll use the room for singing AND piano practice haha .. maybe

Lastly, thanks to Raymond's creative techniques, I have successfully humped the Chinese subway station machines with my bag. No more looking for my transportation card! haha

perhaps this is the START of the OLD ME.

Today was an 'independent' day. I dont want to say lonely because it went by quickly enough and I was productive. Lonely just sounds so negative. I have to get use to being like this on my own. I'll be doing that in Asia soon enough .. I hope. Why would I want that 'independent' scheduling? So I have more time to work out and get healthy and so I can get organized with my writing and plans. I need to write down more to do lists like Oprah says on her shows.

Get organized! I'll start tomorrow or Monday haha. its so much easier when Kaido is at daycare so then I can get more time to myself. Thank goodness its MAY! One more month of bubble tea drinks and then I'm free!! I'm too old for that stuff. I'm in my own generation. haha

just Alfred and I

Been homeless for over a week now. Tired. Mostly just driving around all day with Kaido in Alfred. Alfred's trunk is completely full and the backseats. I was pretty embarrassed when Em was in the car but people like her are awesome and just dont mind. I was nervous for no reason! the girls were accepting and super supportive which was the most important. every group has 'one'. I'm tired. I'm thankful I have places to crash and everyone important in my life is happy. Life is good but I cant wait for time to go by faster so I can stop sacrificing everything for the mom and get a life back. I have to do school work and get my summer plans started.

The city is on tomorrow and I'm excited! Whitney is a super positive person and I can sense that from just seeing her in the public eye. Its about how people speak and dress and interact with others. They just sound so nurturing but full of feminine confidence. All that I strive to strengthen in me.



Meanwhile, I will see my true life independent feminine confident ladies this weekend! yah!

BAKED

I can't bake. I'm not sure why. I think it represents my personality and how I want to rush into things. I am way too eagar in my mid-20s to be doing any baking. I'm sure when I'm older and my hair turns colour (white or grey), then I'll be a better baker. Untill then, I 'll just rush into other crazy plans. I'm so ready.

But, I'll keep trying. Backsteps by make more instant baking goods. Load it with yummy instant frosting and all will be good (some intoxicated people eatin my baked goods would help too.)

School of Medicine

So "Legally Blonde" has been playing on tv every time I work at q-cup ... and I think its a sign. From this movie, I was inspired. If Elle woods can work hard and get into law school against other's expectations. Then isn't it possible for me to think about going into Med School? I've always wanted to help people and I've also wanted to be able to self diagnose my own sicknesses. I am fascinated by human anatomy vocabulary, such as my favourite muscle: the sternocleidomastoid. Most importantly, I am professional student. I have no idea what I am going to do with my English Masters degrees so maybe I should get another more universally useful degree. Oh, and one more sign was my old school counselor said to me "the most popular pre-med major to get into UCLA is English!

Only drawback I can think of, two more years in the good U.S. of Eh. and I m dreading Physics. Ai Ya!

But for now, a girl can dream. Dr. Gao! But Baba says its not good for a woman to have too high of a degree. For marriageable and professional job search purposes (perhaps from a tradition Chinese perspective only). I'll explore the MCAT test questions for a bit.

My talks/dreams/ideas of med-school is good enough to annoy the boy and the funboyz. They said they'd pay for med-school if I got in. NYU would be fun. To be explored. Med School or a Ph.D in linguistics. Hmm, ideally I'd want to do a combination of both. Or perhaps this is just the crazy AM hours banter. DOUBT ME PEOPLE! BRING IT!

Oh, so typical of me. Just before I complete one major obstacle, I overlap and want to start another crazy plan for life.

Uno

To follow a quote I (and many others) often say "small steps towards a big dream". So, with this blog, I thee pronounce commenced! Step 1: create a blog address.

The inspiration of the name is from my boyfriend's witty bud who often told me to 'check my bifocals" and I often did. Physically: for any dirt and smudges on my lens of my 'VOGUE' brand glasses or my purple/pink '12 dollar Chinese Drive Thru Purchasing Experience" glasses. Metaphorically: to check myself (thoughts/ideas, etc.).

All in all, I am like many Asians with bad eye sight and thick glasses (but my father insists I ruined my own eyesight myself without genetics to blame). Then, I blame the new techno era I grew up in. Nonetheless, my glasses are a hassle but I do admit they have helped me to hide from 'stuff'. For example, when I'm running on the treadmill I take off my glasses so I can't see the status of how much longer my torture will last. Or, I hide my un-make up-ed face with my thick frames so society is not frightened by my natural beauty per se.

So, with this blog, I do proclaim I shall document 'stuff' from my current journey to survive my mid-20s. Through my bifocals, what do I hide or un-hide? Yay, thou hast askesth a semi-intelligible query.

Dang this mid-20 life crisis! To be vented ... at a more time when the sun as risen.
